TNI Military Instructors Joined on HIV/AIDS Prevention Training

            TNI Surgeon General have just conducted on HIV/AIDS prevention Training, it was followed by 32 military Instructors from Army, Navy, Air Force Academy and others educational Institution during four days 1-4 Feb 2011 held at Aerospace Medicine Institute Jakarta. The objective of this training is that our military instructors expected have knowledge on HIV prevention and giving the correct information to be delivered to the students. This training is funded by Pepfar (President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief). 

             On speech the Head of TNI Surgeon General said that Discrimination and stigma was still an important issue on HIV/AIDS and becoming a public health problem among TNI. This training is one of the HIV/AIDS training conducted on 2011. Shortly the other training will begin immediately such as Peer Leader Training will be held in Surabaya, Bandung, Semarang, Malang, and Denpasar, IMAI (Integrated Management for Adolescent and adult Illness)Training in Yogyakarta, counselor and Lab training in Jayapura, and the CST Training (Care, Support, and Treatment) in Jayapura.
 

              The military instructor training is one of implemented of TNI Commander in Chief regulation on HIV/AIDS Number Perpang/64/IX/2010 dated September 15th 2010, it was said that the HIV prevention program would be on TNI education curriculum. 

               TNI as a sub of the Indonesian population is closely related to the existing problems. Therefore, TNI also took the role to carry out on HIV prevention efforts are comprehensively, early case finding, improved access to care, support and treatment to TNI personnel with HIV positive.
 

                Be aware that HIV/AIDS is not only health issue, it should be implemented by integrated and sustainable. The HIV/AIDS training for military instructors is very important and strategic as a basic to put the foundations of knowledge to students when they are an active duty.
